BASIC MACHINING FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM

Description

Participants will be able to identify, describe and operate a variety of machinery, including lathes and Mills.

Program Details

This program is a 32-week program, Monday - Thursday, designed for the "General Public". Classes begin at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on these days. These courses are taken after the orientation course. Individuals must complete the entire Machining Fundamentals Training Program.

Subject Covered

This program includes Workforce Skills training, Basic Machining Core Training, and Machining Fundamentals training.

Core training includes Manufacturing Math, Precision Measurement, Blueprint Reading and Hand tool/Machine Shop Safety.

The fundamentals cover machine specifics, like machine parts, operation, and maintenance of both a Lathe and a Milling Machine.

To be considered for the program, applicants must meet each of the following requirements. There are no exceptions

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pass drug screen
