The basic machining program is made up of two sections that will give participants a thorough understanding of machining. In addition, participants will receive a small introduction to CNC Technology.
- Basic Machining – Core
Participants will learn how to apply basic math in the machine shop, use of precision measurement tools like rulers, calipers and micrometers. They will learn the drawing views and line meanings of the shop blueprint, as well as what part computers play in the machine shop environment.
- Basic Machining Fundamentals
Participants will become familiar with basic cutting tools used to shape different metals and how they react at different under different conditions. They will learn how to plan their work and project using information that they learned throughout the class
