Geometric Dimensional Tolerance, most commonly called GD&T (for obvious reasons), is a set of terms, guidelines, and rules that provide a standard language for communicating geometric requirements on mechanical engineering drawings. Because of the expansion of global industry, it is critical that engineers, designers, manufacturers, and quality inspectors be able to share and understand advanced technical designs and specifications.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers publishes its latest update to the most current standards.
